Husted Joins Pressure Campaign for CLARITY Act Amid Passage Odds Slump
U.S. Senator Jon Husted (R-OH) has publicly endorsed the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, calling for regulatory certainty to keep the U.S. competitive in digital assets.
Husted's support comes as the bill's passage odds have slipped to 30%, according to Galaxy Research, which had previously estimated a 50% chance of passage in 2026.
The Senate has about two weeks before its August recess to pass the 616-page bill, and lawmakers warn that missing this window could push a vote into the fall, when campaign season for the midterms typically crowds out complex legislative fights.
The CLARITY Act would create the first comprehensive federal framework for crypto oversight, splitting jurisdiction between the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
