Husted Pushes for Clarity on Crypto Regulation
Ohio Republican Senator Jon Husted is urging his colleagues in the Senate to approve the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, which would clarify jurisdictional lines between the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) over digital assets.
The House of Representatives has already passed the bill, known as H.R. 3633, on June 1, 2026, but it now sits on the Senate calendar.
The CLARITY Act would give primary oversight of spot digital commodity markets to the CFTC, while carving out specific jurisdiction for the SEC.
One notable provision would exempt mature blockchain projects from certain SEC registration requirements if they have reached a sufficient level of decentralization.
