Hut 8 Corp is set to report its second-quarter earnings on Tuesday, and investors will be watching closely to see if the company's pivot from Bitcoin mining to AI data center infrastructure can deliver on its revenue promises.

The company has reported a significant contracted revenue backlog of $26.6 billion, with an expected average annual net operating income above $1.75 billion. However, analysts have downgraded their estimates in recent weeks, suggesting that Hut 8 may struggle to ramp up operations at its newly leased facilities.

Average analyst estimates are for a loss of 37 cents per share on revenue of $80.4 million, representing a significant sequential improvement from the first quarter's $1.98 loss on $71 million in revenue. However, this would still mark year-over-year revenue growth of only 94.7%, which may not be enough to validate Hut 8's lofty valuation and analyst price targets.
