Hype Token Enters Nasdaq CME Crypto Index with 3.36 Percent Weight
Hyperliquid's HYPE token has been added to the Nasdaq CME crypto index, marking a significant milestone for the asset. According to reports, this change took effect on September 1st alongside a regular quarterly rebalancing after a prospectus supplement for the Hashdex Nasdaq CME Crypto Index ETF (NCIQ) was filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
The index overhaul disclosed the inclusion weights of 9 assets, with Bitcoin holding the largest share at 74.36 percent and ether remaining second at 11.88 percent. HYPE was added for the first time with a 3.36 percent weight, closely following Solana's 3.79 percent weight.
Meeting criteria required by exchanges was cited as the backdrop for Hyperliquid's inclusion, which included satisfying standards for market capitalisation, liquidity, and safe custody. The infrastructure in the U.S. market was also presented as a factor supporting the inclusion.
