HYPE Token Surges on Rumors of Hyperliquid US Market Entry
Hyperliquid's native token HYPE has reached an all-time high after President Donald Trump hinted at the platform's potential entry into the US market. On August 19, Trump stated that Michael Cellik, chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, was working to bring Hyperliquid into the US in a fully compliant and legal way.
This news sparked a rally for HYPE, which jumped by around 19% on the day of the remarks. The token continued to climb, reaching an intraday high of $77.55 on August 21, surpassing its previous record set in June.
The increased interest in Hyperliquid is largely due to its potential expansion into the world's largest derivatives market. As a fully decentralized platform focused on perpetual cryptocurrency futures, Hyperliquid allows users to trade cryptocurrencies, commodities, and tokenized stocks without relying on centralized exchanges.
