HYPE Token Unlock: Where Theory Meets Reality

The recent token unlock of Hyperliquid's HYPE tokens on September 6 released approximately 9.92 million HYPE tokens, valued at roughly $820 million.

At first glance, this might seem like a massive sell pressure event for the HYPE token.

However, historical data shows that only about 1.75% of unlocked supply is actually sold within the first 30 days after an unlock.

This pattern has repeated itself across multiple unlocks, with most recipients choosing to hold onto their tokens rather than sell.
