A proposed partnership between Hyperliquid Labs and Kraken's parent entity, Payward, could bring crypto perpetual futures to the U.S. market via a regulated platform.

Bitnomial, a subsidiary of Payward, would manage the infrastructure for this venture, with Hyperliquid's liquidity pools providing the basis for trading.

A formal proposal has been submitted to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), but regulatory clearance is pending and could take 10-12 months, according to Ashley Ebersole, a former SEC legal advisor.

Hyperliquid currently prohibits U.S. users due to regulatory restrictions, despite handling over $4 billion in daily transactions.
