Hyperliquid Enters Nasdaq CME Crypto Index Amid Growing Institutional Interest
Hyperliquid has joined the Nasdaq CME Crypto Index alongside Bitcoin and XRP, marking an important milestone in the institutional adoption of cryptocurrencies. The inclusion is a result of Hyperliquid's strict compliance with the exchange's requirements for market capitalization, liquidity, and secure custody standards.
According to official documentation, Bitcoin retains its largest share at 74.36%, followed by Ethereum with 11.88%. Hyperliquid debuts with a 3.36% weighting, surpassing other participants such as Solana and Cardano. XRP holds onto its third-largest position with a 5.21% share.
The addition of Hyperliquid to the index is supported by the growth of its spot ETFs, which have reached a net asset value of $461.54 million as of September 1. BlackRock's IBYH fund leads with $236.10 million in net assets, followed by Fidelity's FHYP with $138.59 million.
The inclusion of Hyperliquid in the Nasdaq CME index changes its distribution, allowing investors to gain exposure to the asset through the diversified Hashdex fund. This development highlights the growing interest in institutional investment in cryptocurrencies and the increasing importance of regulatory frameworks.
