Hyperliquid Hype: Can Earnings Growth Outrun Token Dilution?
Hyperliquid's HYPE token may face significant challenges in reaching its price target of $319, according to analyst Crypto Patel. The key factor is whether earnings growth can outpace token dilution.
The analysis focuses on Multicoin Capital's original valuation model, which projected Hyperliquid's derivatives volume climbing from $2.9 trillion in 2025 to $20.2 trillion by 2028. This would generate roughly $8 billion in annual earnings, warranting a $160 billion valuation. However, dividing this by an adjusted supply of 502 million tokens results in a price of over $319.
The real question, as posed by Patel, is whether Hyperliquid's earnings growth can keep pace with token dilution. A bigger protocol does not automatically translate into a higher token price if new HYPE enters circulation faster than revenue grows.
