Hyperliquid Price Drops Amid Macro Risk-Off Sentiment
The price of Hyperliquid (HYPE) dropped by 3.23% over the last 9 hours, according to CoinMarketCap.
This move is largely attributed to a macro-driven risk-off sentiment following the Federal Reserve's Jackson Hole speech on August 28.
Fed Chair Kevin Warsh emphasized that inflation remains too high and signaled openness to further tightening, which pushed implied odds of a September rate hike sharply higher in prediction markets and Fed-funds futures.
The hawkish shift raised short-term yields and strengthened the dollar, triggering a classic risk-off setup for speculative assets like crypto.
HYPE was also affected by its own overextended rally, which had driven the price to new all-time highs near 86-87 dollars just days prior.
