Hyperliquid Seeks CFTC Approval for 24/7 Energy Perpetual Futures
Hyperliquid Policy Center, the policy arm of decentralized derivatives platform Hyperliquid, has formally petitioned the Commodity Futures Trading Commission to permit energy perpetual futures contracts in the United States.
The proposal would allow round-the-clock trading of crude oil and natural gas derivatives while accepting stablecoins and tokenized traditional assets as margin.
Energy perpetual futures are derivative contracts without an expiration date, allowing traders to hold positions indefinitely while paying or receiving funding rates to keep contract prices aligned with the underlying asset.
