Hyperliquid Surges 20% After Trump's Comments on US Market Access

Hyperliquid's price surged by 20% on August 19 after President Donald Trump mentioned that Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) Chair Michael Selig is working on a pathway for the decentralized crypto derivatives exchange to operate in the U.S. legally.

The fact that Trump wants Hyperliquid to have access to the U.S. market could be a game-changer, but it's essential to note that words aren't the same as actions.

No official approval from the CFTC or any other regulator has been announced, nor has there been any commentary regarding what an authorization process might look like or when any of the relevant steps of that process might occur.

However, if Hyperliquid does gain access to the U.S. market, it would have a massive addressable market and could generate significant transaction fees, which would be bullish for its price.
