Hyperliquid Surges Past Pump.fun in Fees, Revenue, and User Activity
Decentralized derivatives platform Hyperliquid has taken the lead in fees over Solana-based meme coin launchpad Pump.fun. Over the past day, Hyperliquid generated $6.5 million in fees, more than four times Pump.fun's $1.5 million. The rise in fees comes as traders increasingly turn to leveraged markets, boosting the native HYPE token to a new all-time high of $82.43 on August 22.
This growth in activity also translates to revenue and user activity, with Hyperliquid outperforming Pump.fun across these key metrics over the past 24 hours. According to data from Token Terminal, Hyperliquid led in both revenue ($5.6 million vs. $1.3 million) and user activity (102,800 daily active users vs. 95,200).
The reason behind Hyperliquid's higher fees lies partly in recent market swings that pushed traders to close or change their leveraged positions, increasing activity on its futures market. Additionally, a Bitcoin position worth nearly $25 million was liquidated on Hyperliquid during the sell-off.
