Hyperliquid Ties to Lazarus Group Raise Red Flags Amid US Expansion Plans
Lazarus Group-affiliated wallets have transferred over $30 million via Hyperliquid, according to data from Arkham. These transactions occurred within a three-week period and involved exchanging Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana for native tokens on the Hyperliquid platform.
The funds were then transferred through various blockchain networks and centralized exchanges such as KuCoin, LBank, and Kraken. This move has raised suspicions about Hyperliquid's involvement in money laundering operations tied to North Korea's regime and cyber activities.
Hyperliquid is attempting to access the US market through Bitnomial, which is owned by Payward. The company received a boost with President Donald Trump's statement that CFTC Chairman Michael Selig is working to bring Hyperliquid under the right regulatory framework in the USA.
