Hyperliquid Token Sees Triple-Digit Growth Amid Perpetual Futures Speculation
Hyperliquid's native token, HYPE, has seen its value more than triple this year. The primary driver of this growth is speculation surrounding the approval of perpetual futures in the U.S. market.
Perpetual futures allow users to bet on a cryptocurrency's price without owning the underlying asset. They are similar to options but do not expire and offer high levels of leverage, up to 50 times the initial investment.
The Trump Administration has urged the Commodities Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to approve HYPE for U.S. customers. However, even if approved, it is likely that restrictions will be imposed on the token's use in the U.S., including lower leverage limits and sanctions screening.
Hyperliquid's blockchain operates independently, holding user coins on the decentralized blockchain. It also charges zero transaction fees on individual orders, making it a cheaper alternative to traditional exchanges like Coinbase.
