A Hyperliquid trader lost $550,000 in USDC after clicking on a sponsored Google ad that directed them to a fake version of the exchange.

The incident was flagged by FlashRescue co-founder Darcy, who pointed to blockchain records showing the money's exit.

Data from Arkham Intelligence revealed three USDC transfers under one transaction hash, with the bulk of it going to 0x98b276…13C55.

The scammers used a technique where they bought or stole verified Google advertiser accounts and provided them with clean webpages hosted on trusted domains.
