Hyperliquid User Loses $550K After Clicking Phishing Ad on Google
A user of the Hyperliquid platform lost approximately $550,000 in USDC after clicking on a Google-sponsored ad that led to a fake Hyperliquid website.
The phishing incident was linked to the Inferno drainer ecosystem, a professional network that automates fund splitting and cross-chain withdrawals. This attack is part of a broader pattern responsible for around $52.74 million in losses from multiple phishing incidents.
Google has since suspended the advertiser behind the fake site, and Salus has shared evidence with authorities for further action.
