Hyperliquid Users Prefer Real-World Assets Over Cryptocurrencies
The rise of real-world assets (RWAs) on Hyperliquid is reshaping user behavior and challenging traditional assumptions about blockchain adoption. According to DefiLlama Research, 169,000 new wallets began trading RWA markets on Hyperliquid between January and June 2026, representing 31.7% of the platform's new users during that period.
Unlike conventional cryptocurrency markets, these users showed a strong preference for continuing to trade RWA markets instead of immediately moving into crypto-native products. The research suggests that up to 80.9% of RWA-originating users remained active in those markets.
The growth of RWAs is also changing the competitive landscape, with exchanges increasingly expanding beyond traditional cryptocurrency markets. Hyperliquid's use of its infrastructure to support RWA markets has emerged as a key strategy in this shift.
