Hyperliquid's HYPE Token Faces Profit-Taking Concerns After Cumberland Transfer
The Hyperliquid cryptocurrency has faced increased scrutiny after Cumberland, one of its major institutional holders, transferred approximately 170,000 HYPE tokens to Coinbase and Bybit.
This move has sparked talk of possible profit-taking and short-term price weakness, with some investors counting on the rally to continue amid Hyperliquid's plans to enter the US market.
Cumberland is among the largest institutional holders of HYPE, and its activity has been a significant factor behind the recent token rally. The timing of the transfer is also noteworthy, as institutional demand for Hyperliquid was recently strong, with spot ETFs on the platform posting a record weekly inflow last week.
The total assets under management in ETFs linked to Hyperliquid are estimated at around $350 million, making the 170,000 HYPE transferred by Cumberland a significant figure, equivalent to about 4% of the corresponding institutional volume.
