Hyperliquid's Hype Token Surges to $82 as Whale Investor Adds $26M

The price of Hyperliquid's HYPE token has reached $82, up from $79.5 in just one day.

This increase marks a 4% rise for HYPE over the past 24 hours and brings its year-to-date gains to over 220%. The HYPE token is now the ninth largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, with an $18.2 billion valuation.

A prominent whale investor has purchased an additional $26 million worth of HYPE tokens, bringing their total holdings to $322 million. This same wallet address has been consistently buying and staking HYPE since early summer, including a 3.24 million token purchase just last week.

Hyperliquid's platform also burned 32,770 HYPE tokens, valued at approximately $2.65 million, within the past 24 hours. This brings the total lifetime burn to 48.57 million HYPE tokens, representing around $3.82 billion in value.
