Hyperliquid's US Entry Hinges on CFTC Rewrite
US regulators are working towards rewriting rules for Hyperliquid, a $200 billion on-chain venue that has been operating outside of American oversight.
In an August 19 statement, President Donald Trump said CFTC Chair Michael Selig is working to bring Hyperliquid to the US in a fully compliant way.
Hyperliquid's current interface keeps US persons off the platform, but with over $114 billion in perpetual futures trading volume in August and open interest above $10 billion, it has become a major player in the crypto market.
CFTC Chair Michael Selig has acknowledged that the agency's existing framework needs rethinking for on-chain systems like Hyperliquid.
