Hyperscale Data Abandons Bitcoin Mining Amid AI Expansion Plans
Hyperscale Data has halted all Bitcoin mining operations at its Michigan data center as of September 1, 2026. The decision is part of a previously announced master services agreement with a California-based neocloud customer.
The MSA provides for the deployment of 20 megawatts and has an initial term of 10 years with two five-year extension options. If exercised, the deal could generate over $1.2 billion in revenue.
Hyperscale Data estimates that this is only a portion of the long-term potential of the Facility. Even if the Customer fully exercises its options for additional power, the Company believes it will retain 80% of the expected power capacity available for future AI data center expansion and additional customers.
