Hyperscale Data Dumps Bitcoin Mining Amid AI Expansion Plans
Hyperscale Data has halted its Bitcoin mining operations at its Michigan facility as it prepares for an artificial intelligence data center customer. The company intends to sell its associated mining equipment and expects revenue of over $1.2 billion under a 10-year master services agreement.
The shutdown marks the next step in Hyperscale's conversion of its Michigan site from Bitcoin mining to AI infrastructure, which is being funded through sales from its Bitcoin treasury.
Hyperscale Data stock has slid to a record low after touching an intraday low of $0.1932 on Wednesday, down about 17% since the previous day.
