Hyperscale Data Halts Bitcoin Mining as AI Plans Take Center Stage
Hyperscale Data Inc., an AI data center company anchored by Bitcoin mining operations, has ceased all Bitcoin mining activities at its Michigan facility. The decision comes as the company prepares to deploy its customer's AI data center infrastructure under a previously announced master services agreement (MSA). This MSA is expected to generate over $1.2 billion in revenue if exercised for the maximum term.
The MSA, signed with a California-based neocloud provider, provides for the deployment of 20 megawatts and has an initial term of 10 years with two five-year extension options. If fully exercised, it could result in total contract revenue exceeding $3 billion.
The company believes that transitioning the facility away from Bitcoin mining will enable it to dedicate available electrical capacity, physical infrastructure, personnel, and capital resources to support its customer's operations and expansion plans.
