Hyperscale Data Sells $43.4M in Bitcoin to Clear Debts, Warns of Liquidity Shortfall
Hyperscale Data, a company involved in cryptocurrency-related activities, has made a significant move to address its debt obligations. In August 2026, it sold approximately 686 Bitcoin for around $43.4 million.
The proceeds from the sale were used to repay all of its outstanding loans on Morpho, a decentralized lending protocol. This repayment not only cleared the company's immediate loan-related collateral exposure but also removed the need to pledge additional collateral in the future.
Despite this positive development, Hyperscale Data still faces significant funding challenges. The company reported having $36.8 million in cash and cash equivalents against $201.7 million in current liabilities as of June 30. Moreover, its available liquidity is not expected to cover operating requirements, obligations, and planned capital expenditures for the next 12 months.
The company's management expects to invest more than $100 million over time to complete a 20-megawatt deployment at its Michigan AI data center. However, this investment plan remains uncertain due to funding availability concerns.
