Hyperscale Data Takes on Debt Against Bitcoin Treasury
Hyperscale Data Inc. has taken advantage of the Morpho Protocol to borrow approximately $30 million against its Bitcoin treasury. This decentralized finance financing program will fund the expansion of its Michigan AI data center campus.
The company can access low-cost capital at a variable interest rate of 4.9% without selling additional Bitcoin or issuing dilutive equity. The proceeds from this borrowing are designated for construction and infrastructure development under a master services agreement with an AI-based neocloud provider, aiming to preserve long-term exposure to digital asset appreciation.
This move marks a significant pivot from the company's earlier liquidity plans. On July 30, 2026, Hyperscale Data announced the sale of approximately 100 Bitcoin alongside a general credit facility with expected rates between 4.5% and 5%. The new arrangement offers a more efficient mechanism by leveraging overcollateralized borrowing via blockchain-based smart contracts.
