Hyperscale Redirects Bitcoin Holdings Towards AI Expansion
Hyperscale Data is redirecting some of its Bitcoin holdings towards an AI business expansion that is expected to contribute less than one-sixth of the company's projected $350 million revenue in 2027.
The company's executive chairman, Milton 'Todd' Ault III, said the decision to sell 150.5 BTC for approximately $9.6 million was made because 'the data center is so important.'
Hyperscale's AI expansion plans include converting its Michigan Bitcoin-mining site into an AI data center, which will require between $100 million and $120 million in development costs.
The company projects that the AI business will generate $40 million to $50 million in revenue next year, representing about 11% to 17% of its total projected revenue.
