Hyperscale Taps Bitcoin for AI Expansion
Hyperscale Data is redirecting its Bitcoin holdings toward AI development in its Michigan data center, despite the AI business expected to contribute less than one-sixth of the company's projected revenue.
The company expects its revenue to reach $300 million to $350 million in 2027, with most coming from lending, digital assets, and portfolio companies. The AI expansion is forecasted to generate between $40 million to $50 million, accounting for approximately 11% to 17% of the total.
The company sold 150.5 BTC for approximately $9.6 million during the week ended Aug. 2, reducing its holdings to 958.5352 BTC worth about $60.8 million. The funds are being used to convert the data center into an AI facility, with an estimated cost of between $100 million and $120 million.
