IBM Expands Quantum Computing in Switzerland Through ETH Zurich Partnership
IBM stock rose by 3.38% on Thursday after the company expanded its quantum computing presence in Switzerland, closing at $239.94 before slipping to $238.91 in pre-market trading.
The expansion includes a new partnership with ETH Zurich and Lockheed Martin, which will operate a Quantum System Two at the Swiss National Supercomputing Center in Lugano.
The system will use IBM's most advanced quantum processor, IBM Quantum Nighthawk, and is expected to be deployed by the end of 2026.
