ICE Taps Tzero for Tokenized Stock Platform with 24/7 Trading
Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), is deepening its involvement in tokenized public equities by tapping Tzero to build the regulated blockchain infrastructure needed for on-chain trading.
The partnership aims to enable 24/7 trading and instant settlement, using a platform that combines ICE's Pillar matching engine with blockchain-based post-trade systems. The blueprint includes fractional shares, dollar-denominated orders, and stablecoin funding across multiple blockchain networks.
Tzero will become the premier design partner for digital transfer-agent and broker-dealer infrastructure on ICE's planned NYSE-affiliated Digital Trading Platform. In addition to licensing technology spanning 103 blockchain patents, ICE is also investing in Tzero.
The SEC approval remains a key hurdle before ICE's tokenized market can launch. While the platform targets instant settlement, collateral use of tokenized real-world assets issued through Tzero is still being explored and not yet approved.
