ICE Teams with tZERO on Tokenized Securities Platform
Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), has partnered with tZERO to develop infrastructure for a planned NYSE-affiliated tokenized securities platform. The agreement includes an investment by ICE in tZERO's latest funding round, as well as a license for ICE to use tZERO's blockchain patent portfolio.
tZERO's patent holdings span 23 patent families and 103 individual patents, covering compliance-aware transfer logic, upgradeable smart contract frameworks, and corporate-action handling. The company will help shape the digital transfer-agent and broker-dealer infrastructure for ICE's Digital Trading Platform.
The partnership marks tZERO's deepest tie to a major exchange operator yet, with plans to seek approval as a digital transfer agent on ICE's NYSE-linked platform. The companies also plan to evaluate using tZERO's tokenized assets for collateral management across ICE's clearing houses and other affiliated entities.
