Illuvium Team Cuts Wages to Extend Runway Past August 2027
Illuvium's team has cut their wages again to preserve the studio's runway, which is now over 12 months. The reduction puts Illuvium past August 2027, according to co-founder Kieran Warwick.
The game studio had already reduced costs heavily over six months and the remaining team is almost entirely focused on its Overworld MMO. Warwick said his confidence has 'nothing to do with the price of ETH.'
Illuvium's treasury is valued at $2.78 million against $60 million raised, and the ILV staked in its pools is worth $2.21 million, or 7.98% of market capitalization. The token trades at $3.35, up 6.1% on the day and 17.9% over the week.
Warwick said that the team's current focus is on Overworld, which will feature multiplayer combat, dungeon runs, creature capture and onchain items, but no player-versus-player mode at launch. He also mentioned four other products launching this year: a Celebrations collection for Illuvium Beyond, Beyond Chaos, Primal Tactica, and Loadout.
