El Salvador has made significant purchases of Bitcoin since it became the first country to adopt the cryptocurrency as legal tender. According to reports, the country buys around 1 BTC per day, with each coin valued at approximately $80,690.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) recently stated that El Salvador has not used public funds to buy Bitcoin since June 2025. This news is significant because it could impact the IMF's loan program with the country.

As a result of this development, the IMF has approved the next $140 million payment from its $1.4 billion loan program. It appears that El Salvador's adoption of Bitcoin is generating profits for the country.
