India Cancels DEA Hearing Again, Delaying Crypto Regulations

The Indian government's review of its cryptocurrency regulations has hit another snag.

The parliamentary committee on finance, which was set to discuss a study on Virtual Digital Assets (VDAs) with the Department of Economic Affairs (DEA), has cancelled its meeting scheduled for August 27, 2026.

This is not the first time the DEA hearing has been rescheduled. It was initially slated for July 15, but then moved to August 27, and now it's been cancelled without a new date announced.

The cancellation of this meeting means that investors will have to wait even longer for clarity on India's regulatory framework for cryptocurrencies.
