The Indian government has released an additional ₹1,09,019 crore ($12.5 billion) in tax devolution to state governments.
The early transfer of funds gives states access to money more than a week before the regular August payment.
The move aims to accelerate infrastructure and development spending.
The additional liquidity could also have indirect effects on financial markets, including cryptocurrencies.
According to India's Finance Ministry, the extra tax devolution was released on August 1.
