India Tests Blockchain Bonds with $620 Billion Market at Stake
The Reserve Bank of India and the Securities and Exchange Board of India have launched Demat 2.0, a pilot project to test blockchain-based corporate bonds using distributed ledger technology.
The pilot targets India's $620 billion corporate bond market and uses the RBI's digital rupee for settlement.
This experiment is aimed at exploring the potential benefits of tokenized corporate bonds and improving the efficiency of bond transactions in India's financial markets.
