India's Agricultural Assets Get Blockchain Boost Through Arya.ag Loans
India's USD 2B Farm Assets Go Digital Through Blockchain Loans
Arya.ag, an agricultural commodities company, is testing tokenized grain receipts on the Avalanche blockchain. This move aims to improve collateral verification and create more efficient lending workflows for agricultural borrowers.
Arya.ag holds around USD 2 billion in agricultural commodities across its warehouse network and facilitates major annual lending activity. The model converts verified warehouse receipts and related information into blockchain-based digital records, linking physical assets with digital lending records.
Devika Mittal, Ava Labs India head, said testing is underway for the tokenized warehouse receipt system. Each tokenized receipt represents ownership of stored commodities, making it easier to verify ownership and reduce repeated checks.
