India has announced plans to train one crore youth in AI within a year as part of its national skilling push, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This target places AI in a unique category among emerging technologies in the country's workforce agenda. The ₹10,371.92 crore outlay for IndiaAI is notable, but it's unclear if a similar plan exists for blockchain education.

The government has already backed existing programs covering Ethereum development, fintech, public and private blockchains, cybersecurity, cloud computing, and more. However, with over 1,200 startups and 15.2% of global Web3 developers in India, it's possible that Web3 could get left behind.

India's focus on AI training raises questions about the potential impact on other emerging technologies like blockchain. As the country invests heavily in AI education, will it neglect other areas of innovation?
