India's Crypto Market Flooded with Gen Z Traders
India's cryptocurrency market is witnessing an influx of young investors, particularly from Gen Z. According to CoinSwitch, this demographic now accounts for 54.4% of new Indian crypto investors in Q2 2026.
This younger generation is characterized by their active engagement with cryptocurrencies, unlike older investors who often adopt a buy-and-hold strategy. Gen Z traders are frequently selling, switching positions, and experimenting with tokens, contributing to higher trading activity.
While this trend may accelerate crypto adoption and increase CEX/DEX volume and token liquidity, it also raises concerns about short-term volatility and market stability. This behavior could support medium-term growth but also poses risks for DeFi and token launches.
