India's Retail Traders Turn to CFDs for Global Market Access
India's traders are leveraging CFDs to access global markets without relying on traditional intermediaries. This shift has made it possible for retail investors in India to trade a wide range of international instruments, including S&P 500 and DAX indices, dollar-priced commodities like gold and crude oil, and leveraged cryptocurrency positions.
The old model, which required traders to work through full-service domestic brokers with relationships with foreign custodians, was designed for institutional flows and high-net-worth individuals. This limited retail participation in global markets, making it difficult for Indian traders to access instruments like the S&P 500 or Nasdaq 100.
International online CFD platforms have changed this by providing a direct digital interface that allows individual traders to access global markets within hours of setting up an account. The process involves identity verification through uploaded documents, funding through bank transfer or cryptocurrency deposit, and initial trading configuration.
