Indonesia Eyes Regional Crypto Hub Status with Growing Domestic Interest
Indonesia has an opportunity to strengthen its position as a liquidity hub for crypto assets in the region, according to James Eugene, Vice President of Business Development at INDODAX. He noted that Indonesia's large domestic market interest and global blockchain projects' interest in the country create a favorable environment for growth.
Eugene emphasized the importance of balancing market needs, innovation, and compliance when dealing with new projects and products entering the Indonesian market. Consumer protection is a top priority, and regulatory certainty is crucial to attract global institutions and companies.
To develop into a crypto hub in Southeast Asia, Indonesia needs more builders creating products and infrastructure with global capabilities and increased liquidity connecting projects, exchanges, investors, and various parts of the blockchain ecosystem. Eugene also highlighted the need for venture capital support to boost market growth.
