Indonesia's onshore markets responded positively to President Prabowo's nomination of Deputy Governor Destry Damayanti as the next Bank Indonesia Governor, a move that should sustain confidence in the monetary framework. DBS Group Research analyst Radhika Rao notes that an experienced and independent technocrat at the helm is crucial for maintaining market trust.

Rao highlights that the Rupiah has stabilized below 14,000/USD, with bond yields easing, creating a favorable environment for Bank Indonesia to keep rates unchanged this month. This move would be in line with the relatively firm second-quarter growth report and stability in the rupiah.
