Injective Pioneers Regulatory Waters with SEC Transfer Agent Registration
Injective has become the first layer-1 blockchain to complete registration as a transfer agent with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). This milestone marks a significant step towards regulated on-chain securities management, according to a report from Crypto Briefing.
A transfer agent is an entity that maintains records of securities owners, issues and cancels certificates, and handles other administrative tasks related to securities transactions. By registering with the SEC, Injective can now perform these functions directly on-chain for digital securities, streamlining processes traditionally handled by centralized intermediaries.
The registration also enables Injective to support interoperability with the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) settlement network. The DTCC is a major clearinghouse in the U.S. financial system, and this integration could facilitate the seamless transfer of digital securities within existing market infrastructure.
