Injective Secures SEC Transfer Agent Status for Institutional Tokenization
Injective has taken another step towards mainstream adoption of its blockchain technology. The Layer 1 network announced that its institutional services arm is now registered with the SEC as a transfer agent, allowing it to manage official records of securities ownership and support functions like transfers and distributions.
This regulatory move adds a crucial layer of compliance to Injective's growing push into tokenized equities, private-company shares, and trade finance. The company has been working towards this goal since 2026, with the aim of becoming a leading venue for institutional tokenization.
The SEC registration will enable Injective to provide distributed-ledger infrastructure that remains compatible with U.S. securities rules. This is a significant development in the expansion of tokenized markets beyond public equities. Injective has already launched markets tied to digital-asset treasury companies, public equities, and shares of private companies like SpaceX and OpenAI.
The company's next challenge will be scaling adoption among banks and issuers after its 2026 regulatory push. 'The transfer agent registration [is] the regulated recordkeeping layer that American markets require. The full stack for onchain capital markets is here,' Injective said in a post on X.
