Injective Surges on Buyback, USDC Migration Amid Broad Crypto Rally
The price of Injective (INJ) surged by 3.5% over the past 42 hours due to several bullish catalysts.
One key factor was the community buyback program, which directs protocol revenue and ecosystem funds into buying back INJ on the market. The September Community BuyBack reached full participation on August 26, 2026, with more than $168,000 committed to buying INJ.
Another catalyst was Injective's role in the Cosmos/DeFi stack, particularly around USDC and on-chain activity. A recent announcement stated that Injective will migrate legacy USDC representations into a canonical 'Injective USDC' standard in September 2026, in collaboration with Circle and teams across the Cosmos ecosystem.
The move in INJ also coincided with a broader risk-on rally driven by Bitcoin's strong performance. Over the same period, Bitcoin pushed above $80,000 on August 25, 2026, with dominance rising and ETFs seeing some of their best weekly net inflows since late 2025.
