Institutional Crypto Focus Narrowing to Bitcoin and Ethereum, Says Kevin O'Leary
Kevin O'Leary, the investor and Shark Tank personality, has stated that institutional crypto is shifting towards two primary assets: Bitcoin and Ethereum. According to O'Leary, large allocators such as pension funds and asset managers require deep liquidity, clear regulatory treatment, and tested custody infrastructure before committing capital.
Bitcoin's market capitalization stands at approximately $1.58 trillion, while Ethereum's is around $300 billion. Together they account for roughly 69% of the total crypto market, which is valued at $2.77 trillion.
O'Leary pointed out that once regulations open doors to more institutional capital, investors will focus on assets with significant market volatility and liquidity. He also highlighted the long-term opportunity in blockchain infrastructure development.
