Institutional Demand Drives Bitcoin Price Near $80K
Bitcoin's price is closing in on the $80,000 mark as institutional investors continue to pour money into exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and derivatives trading. The latest data from Lookonchain shows that U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs saw net inflows of 4,284 BTC worth $336.07 million on August 25, with a total net inflow of 26,499 BTC over the past seven days valued at $2.08 billion.
The strong demand from institutional investors is driving the price of Bitcoin higher, and it's trading near its recent highs after breaking out of a consolidation period. The breakout area around $68,743 has turned into a potential support zone, and technical momentum indicators suggest that there is significant buying interest in the market.
Bitcoin open interest has also surged to nearly $58 billion, one of the highest levels seen in recent months. This indicates that new money is entering the market, rather than traders closing existing positions, which could be a sign of growing participation and confidence in the asset.
