Institutional Demand Returns as $825M Flows into US Crypto ETFs
Regulated demand for crypto assets has returned to the market, as US spot Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs drew in a combined $825.8 million on August 20.
The figures come from Farside Investors data, which showed that spot Bitcoin ETFs took in $606.3 million for the session, led by BlackRock's IBIT with $503 million in inflows.
Meanwhile, spot Ethereum ETFs added another $219.5 million, with BlackRock's ETHA leading the way at $173.3 million.
The data suggests that institutional investors are not only allocating to Bitcoin, but also to Ethereum, which has often traded in Bitcoin's shadow from an institutional standpoint.
