Regulatory clarity is emerging for digital assets as they become increasingly integrated into the financial system. Last week's developments underscore this trend, with Interactive Brokers expanding its crypto offering and stablecoin legislation advancing in the US.
The shift towards institutional prime brokerage, driven by companies like Ripple, is also gaining momentum. The company recently raised $275mn to support financing, prime brokerage, and multi-asset clearing through its US institutional prime brokerage business, Ripple Prime.
As digital assets become a staple of traditional financial markets, the infrastructure supporting them must meet the same expectations as other asset classes. This includes reliable liquidity, efficient use of capital, clear counterparties, and settlement that works when and where capital needs to move.
