An anonymous whale suspected of being an institutional investor has transferred 52,739 ETH to six centralized exchanges over the past two days.

The value of this transfer is approximately $129 million. This movement was flagged by on-chain analyst EmberCN, who noted that the address still holds 101,561 ETH, valued at around $249 million.

This whale's holdings were originally withdrawn from Coinbase between 2021 and 2022, with an average price of $1,700 per token. The funds were then deposited into Ethereum staking in 2023 and later unstaked in January of the previous year.

The pattern of consolidation followed by deposits to exchanges is typically interpreted as a precursor to selling. However, it's essential to note that deposits to exchanges do not always result in immediate sell orders; they can also be used for over-the-counter (OTC) trades, collateral, or other purposes.
